SplitVault is a race timer and training journal for tracking performance across athletes and events. Tap Start to begin timing, Lap to record a split, and Stop to finish. Your timings are saved automatically and synced across your devices via iCloud.
Make sure you are signed into the same iCloud account on all your devices. Your timing data will sync automatically.
Create categories (e.g., "50m Freestyle SC", "100m Backstroke LC") using the + button on the home screen. Each timing session is saved under the selected category. For swim events, you can specify the category as Short Course (25m) or Long Course (50m).
Each category can be classified as Swim, Run/Track, or Other. For swim categories, you can also set the course type (Short Course or Long Course). This helps keep your data organised and ensures PBs and goals are tracked correctly for each course type.
Tap the athlete name in the top-left corner to open the athlete picker. From there you can add new athletes, switch between them, or edit an athlete's profile (name, photo, and colour). Each athlete has their own categories, timings, and goal times.
Long-press on a category pill and select Set Goal Time. Once set, you'll see your goal in the quick stats area with a delta showing how close your best time is. The goal also appears as a reference line on performance charts.
Yes. Tap the + icon in the history section header to add a timing manually. This is useful for logging competition results or backfilling historical data. You can set the date, time, category, and an optional description.
Yes. Tap on any timing card to open its details, where you can add or edit a description.
Select a category, then tap the chart icon in the history section header. The chart shows your times over a chosen period with a trend line. If you've set a goal time, it appears as a dashed reference line on the chart.
Select a category, then tap the export icon in the history section header. You can export your timings as a CSV file or as formatted text, and share via any app on your device.
SplitVault can optionally capture your location when you start a timing session. This helps you remember where you were training and is also used to fetch weather conditions. You can deny location access and the app will work normally without it.
When location access is granted, SplitVault records weather conditions (temperature, humidity, wind) at the time of each session. This helps track performance across different conditions. Weather data is provided by Apple Weather.
Yes. On iPad, SplitVault uses a side-by-side layout showing the timer and timing history together, making it easy to time and review data at a glance.
Swipe left on any timing in the history list to delete it, or tap the timing to open its details and use the Delete Timing button.
Long-press on a category pill and select Delete. Timings in that category will be kept but become uncategorised.
