Privacy Policy · Effective March 24, 2026
SplitVault is a race timer and training journal for tracking athletic performance. Your privacy is important to us. This policy explains what data the app collects, how it is used, and how it is stored.
Timing Data: The app records timing sessions, laps, and split times that you create. This data is stored locally on your device and synced to your private iCloud account.
Athlete Profiles: You may create athlete profiles with a name, colour, and optional photo. Photos are stored locally on your device and synced via iCloud. No profile data is shared externally.
Location Data: When you start a timing session, the app may capture your current location (latitude and longitude) to associate with that session. Location is only accessed at the moment of recording and is not tracked continuously. You can deny location access and the app will function normally without it.
Weather Data: When location access is granted, the app fetches current weather conditions (temperature, humidity, wind) from Apple Weather at the time of each session. This data is stored with the timing record. Weather data is provided by Apple Weather.
Event Categories: You may create custom category names to organise your timing sessions. These are stored locally and synced via iCloud.
Your data is synced across your devices using Apple's CloudKit service. Data is stored in your private iCloud database, which only you can access. We do not have access to your iCloud data.
All data is stored locally on your device and in your private iCloud account, protected by Apple's built-in security measures. We do not operate any external servers.
The app does not knowingly collect data from children under 13. The app contains no user accounts, social features, or third-party services.
We may update this privacy policy from time to time. Any changes will be posted on this page with an updated effective date.
